As I walk through the hallways in my school, I see the problem evidently. Our world has become over populated with the greater evil, obesity, childhood obesity to be more specific. Childhood obesity is one of the most serious, prevailing health challenges of the twenty first century. Children all over the world are eating and eating, to the point where they don’t realize they have been over-eating, until it is too late.
All throughout America, thousands of children suffer from childhood obesity, but how can they avoid the problem before it’s too late? As a society, we are blinded by the dangers of obesity and what it really does to our children. I mean, think about it, it’s always someone else’s child who suffers from obesity. From the beginning, obesity plants a malicious seed of harmful substances, cultivating each worst and worst as time progresses. Although there is not a specific root problem of obesity, it is certain that the number of possibilities for this dilemma stems out infinitely. Children become overweight or obese for a variety of reasons. Through my research I have found the recurring cause of childhood obesity is the imbalance of the food intake ratio to the amount of physical activity a child does in a day. The amount of calories children intake is unbelievable! But, we can’t put children at full responsibility for this, times are changing. Consider the eating habits of children in the 1970s versus children now, we must admit that in this technology infused world, the availability of unhealthy foods is literally at our fingertips. With this fast evolving, commerce-filled world we can get our choice of calorie infused delicacy in just a few clicks. Or, you could even take a fifteen minute walk and be at a local corner store,
