You should be aware now how obesity affects the body and your health. Many people doesn’t realize how much damaging obesity can affect your body health. Some families should be grateful because other families can’t afford fresh food, or a great job to buy food. Parents struggle in their life, so their kids have a better life than the parents. Kids should be more active, and go play outside to get less exercise.
Childhood Obesity by Karen Luna General Purpose : To inform Specific Purpose: To inform my audience about the rising issues of childhood obesity Central Idea: While there are many reasons for childhood obesity rising in the U.S 3 main issues are children eating too much ,excercising too litte and obesity producing diseases in childhood. Introduction I. Take a look around next time you go to the store, the mall or anywhere. What you will find has become the new trend among children. It is starting to become literally a big problem and it is becoming a bigger issue each year.
According to CDC, Childhood obesity is a growing problem in the US. About 17% of children and young people suffer from this issue, a percentage that has nearly tripled since 1980, according to CDC, US officials warn that unless the government does not act effectively with alleviating diseases associated with obesity such as heart disease, cancer and other health problems (not to mention the social and emotional problems associated) It could turn these children and youth in the first generation to die before their parents. This source also expresses that bad eating habits that children develop during childhood can lead the child to suffer severe health consequences later. If the child does not get enough attention, and proper treatment, they may develop disorders during adolescence.
In that tiny bit of time, the kids had been fed snack crackers and juice boxes - both completely laden with high fructose corn syrup, sugar, artificial colors, and a variety of toxins. I thought, "Seriously! Was that really necessary?" Would anyone have starved in that one hour? How about teaching them something about health and giving them water to hydrate their bodies while they walked.
Informative Briefing Self-Assessment My informative speech discusses childhood obesity and the different aspects of it. I divided my speech into three sections, each one informing my audience about particular facets of childhood obesity. The three parts were made up of the following: how childhood obesity has developed over time (mainly over the past 30 years), what causes childhood obesity, and how childhood obesity affects other parts of the world. From a visual standpoint, I used a Powerpoint to accompany my speech and provide an optical means of communication to my audience.
Introduction The smartphone has taken the world by storm. It allows users to communicate with friends, to take pictures, and to access a vast amount of information via the internet. This technology has become essential to our identity. However, is causing users to become increasingly sedentary. Some believe that weight gain has become inevitable in our technology-dependent world, but it many believe it will also provide a solution.
TThe word obesity comes from Latin obēsus, from ob- (intensive) + edere to eat (obese, n.d.). However, today we define obesity as the condition of being very fat or overweight (obesity, n.d.). Our everyday life environment is becoming more obesogenic because of its increasing exposure to unhealthy food and bad habits, and research shows that wherever foods high in fat and sugar are readily available and easily accessible, people are more obese (Wilsher, Harrison, Yamoah, Fearne , & Jones, 2016). Furthermore, the vast majority of high on fat and unhealthy food products goes to the fast food industry (Cena, n.d.) However, while the public interest in health and obesity issues is decreasing, the demand in the fast food industry is growing rapidly
Hello Pius, While I do agree obesity is a national issue, I don’t agree that buffets are to blame there have always been all you can eat buffets. I would put the blame more on the lack of exercise starting in childhood due to technology and the distraction it is for children, as a child I remember spending all day outside from sun up to sun down I was outside every day I was allowed and wasn’t stuck in school. Now things are much different “AAP has estimated that the average child can spend upwards of 7 hours of TV, internet usage and video games per day! The scary thought is that everything else is taking a back seat including: quality family time, reading, homework, and exercise.
Who in here has seen someone that has obesity, and would dare to tell them to lose weight? Obesity is one of the world's deadliest friend to people those are the people that can eat more than an original sized person. So that means that they can eat up to many meals in one day also they eat and then they just lay down so all those calories accumulate and they start getting fat.
In the world today, obesity is a major issue in children and adults and the numbers are growing every day. I strongly believe that it is the parent’s responsibility to make sure their kids are eating properly and getting the exercise they need to stay healthy. In today’s world a lot of kids stay inside and watch television or play video games and don’t play outside as much. Parents need to teach their kids to play outside where they can get exercise like playing sports. When I was a kid we stayed outside all the time and played tag, hide and go seek, and a lot of other games that kept us actively running around.
I am writing to inform you about the topic that has been progressing for several years now. This topic has been effecting both the students as well as the schools nationwide. Indeed, I believe that it is time to take action and stop this controversy while we still can. No one enjoys the idea of hunger and especially when you are stuck a place for certain amount of hour. School is place to learn but it is impossible for one to obtain information when one is experiencing hunger.
It is an annual process; little Robbie has to get ready to go to the doctor. Every year around the time of his checkup Robbie gets anxious. Whenever Robbie goes to the doctor he is always criticized about his weight. Robbie, personally, does not see the big deal in eating delicious, savory, and salty food. This year was the same as any other, until Robbie’s world was turned upside down.
Crossing my arms and scrunching my nose, I declared—with conviction—that my tummy could eat no more. Undaunted, my grandmother, reminded me of all of the starving children in the world and convinced me to finish my sandwich. At this point, I did not know the astonishing fact that across the globe obesity causes more deaths than starvation. Also, within the past twenty years, the global obesity rate climbed eighty-two percent. Food quantity and quality and physical activity collectively contribute to the obesity epidemic.
Ask anyone and they will say that we have done a lot of damage to the Earth, but what have we done to ourselves. Today’s society is full of overweight or obese people and it’s killing us at a fast pace. Someone is considered overweight if they have a BMI (Body Mass Index) between 25 and 29 and obese if there BMI is 30 or higher (World Health Organization, n.d.). That being said at least 2.8 million people die each year because they are overweight or obese (World Health Organization, n.d.).
