Childhood vaccines Parent have many choices to make for their children as they grow regarding their health. Of many different areas of heal, a more newly controversial topic has been weather or not children should receive vaccines, when they should receive these vaccinations, and if parents should skip out on any vaccinations. In this paper I will discussing why parents should have their children get fully vaccinated at the times recommended by medical professionals. The article I chose, “Vaccines: The Reality Behind the Debate”, discusses the concern that parents have with vaccinating their kids while also providing information on how important these vaccines are for children. In this article, the intended audience is parents with young children, particularly the parents who are indecisive or do not want to have them vaccinated. The purpose of this article is show the importance of routine immunizations and to convince parents that their children should fully receive them at the scheduled times. In order to get this message across it uses a few of the different Rhetorical appeals. The authors main appeal is logos. This article includes plenty of logical statistics and facts on vaccinations, their rates, the serious diseases they prevent, their lack of connection with autism and more. The author also uses some pathos appeal too, by including the personal, relatable story of Lisa Estall and her fight on weather or not she wanted her daughter, Summer, to continue receiving immunizations after seeing how she seems so traumatized at the time of receiving them. Being that the safety of vaccines is a current controversial topic, this article also falls into the Kairos
