Every person was at one point just a baby, less than 20 pounds, and had no concept of language. A child does not know how to speak, what is happening around them, or even how to conceptualize who his or her parents are. Some people ask the question as to whether children are born innately good or evil, but everyone is born innately evil. No one will ever know truly whether children are born kind or evil, but many people like to state their thoughts on this manner. When children are born they do not have an ability to tell their parents what they would like and what they would not like, they may grunt and make noises, but they are incapable of any speech for quite some time. In the bible it is stated “among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body1 and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.” (English Standard Version Ephesians 2:3). This mentions how the children are trying to fulfill the desires of their body, but not their heart. It also goes on to state they they are born as children of wrath, confirming that children are not born good creatures. Children do not have a concept of good and evil at birth. The children merely are looking to receive the best toys, foods, and clothing, but does not know the cost that it takes to receive that item. A one-year-old child does not know the concept of killing someone just to get something, and this is where his or her parent has to come into the equation and tell the child what is right and what is wrong. Obviously, it would be difficult for a one-year-old to kill someone, but it is not difficult for them to imagine killing someone in their mind to get something, and I believe this is a thought that everyone has had in their mind at some point in their life. “If he wasn’t alive then I would have that” is something that most likely everyone has thought of, which in essence is wishing death upon that
