Contrast between Chile and USA During my whole life I’ve been back and forth, living between Chile and USA. I’ve lived in both countries for almost the same amount of years each. I think if I hadn’t lived here when I was smaller, I would feel a big cultural shock. Geographically Chile is very extensive and in length, we have a great variety of climates and landforms. We can take the bus from the middle of a region and in 1hour be either at the mountains full of snow or at the sea.

Therefore, on the 11th day of each November, we push moments aside to recall and thank living and deceased veterans who shape the world into the sphere it spins as today. Swing by one of these remarkable places to truly reminisce and express gratitude
We celebrate Veterans Day every year on November 11th to honor the men and women who served and is still serving our wonderful country. We shouldn’t honor a veteran just once a year but everyday because they are protecting us everyday. When we say the pledge in the mornings we should be thinking about our veterans and what they did for us. Many veterans we get to still celebrate with and some were not so lucky and didn’t make it back home to their loved ones.
After three centuries of colonial rule, Spanish and Portuguese America got independence. Between 1808 and 1826 all of Latin America except the Spanish colonies of Cuba and Puerto Rico remained under Spanish rule. This was the result of a combination of long-building tensions in colonial rule and a series of external events. The reforms imposed by the Spanish in the 18th century provoked great instability in the relations between the rulers and their colonial subjects in the Americas. Many Creoles felt Bourbon policy to be an unfair attack on their wealth, political power, and social status.
The First Junta was created with lawyers, businessmen, clerics, politicians, etc from the provinces and Buenos Aires. At first INDEPENDENCE WAS NOT THE GOAL. In fact the Revolution wanted to keep being part of the Spanish Empire, but with their own government and trade rights, once the King of Spain recovers its crown. The people that led the May Revolution and later executed the Independence War and the Liberation of America, were strongly idealist and masons with a high influence in humanism and the new ideals from the US Revolution and the Enlightenment. Mostly in these movements in Spain, France and UK.
Veterans Day is distinct from most holidays. It is something that should hold true to everyone’s heart. No matter if you personally are a veteran or not, chances are you know someone that is. The United States set aside this day to honor our veterans, however we should honor them as much and as often as possible.

Cinco de Mayo is also celebrated in the United States more than it is in Mexico.
I’m the first generation of my family to be Mexican -American, but I have been introduced to the Mexican culture since I was born. I appreciate the difficulties my parents have faced to make me the person that I am today even though I wasn’t born in Mexico my parents have taught me the language and the culture which I’m so proud of being part of. For others being Hispanic is actually being born in any Latin American countries which is not true at all. Being Hispanic is much more than my cultural background it actually describes how much I appreciate my culture and how I get to experience things other people don’t. I fit into the Hispanic community through the experiencing the culture first hand ,participating in traditions and planning to include my culture in my future.
