The current Chilean Educational System has issues towards sexual minorities, that is why people who belong in this group are dealing with a negative environment. The problems related to the interaction with others and segregation by the bigger group. Because of this situation the Ministerio de Educación (Mineduc) has been worked to solve these prejudice problems with guidance in how to address and embrace diversity in the classroom.
Since 2002, more than 100 cases have been registered where 302 children and 100 teachers have been the main victims of hatred crimes and it has become an issue for the educational system. That is why on April 28 Mineduc has released a guide for schools in order to fight harassment at them. People from the LGBTI have been targeted by people due to their orientation. Since Chilean society has not been acknowledged them as equals.

Sexual minorities were not approached in the past, but in order to ensure quality according to “The Dakar Framework” (dossier) a good environment must be provided to children. As future teachers, we must address these issues in education because this kind of behavior negatively affects the teaching process, if people are not willing to think beyond what they were taught.
