In the book Chinese Cinderella, by Adeline Yen Mah, Adeline compares herself to Mulan, as a brave persevering warrior who fights many Battles and has a great amount of courage. She must stand up to Niang, and brave the beatings of most of her family. She must find ways to deal with her loneliness at bording school, and mentally fight the bullies. She teams up with Wun Chun Mei at her side to win the battle over class president, and she faught the enemy. With a little help from PLT and Aunt Baba, she can succeed, and win the praise of her father. In the book, she compares herself to Mulan, fights many battles, and finds her courage. Adeline compared herself to Mulan becuase she considers herself a courageous, brave warrior who fights feirce battles. Her Mentor is Aunt Baba, who incourages Adeline to follow her dreams and do well in school. When Adeline, the great warrior, feels down, she shows her report cards from school. Once Adeline disobeyed Niang, she went to Wun Chun Mei's birthday party. Once it was time to cut the cake, Adeline left to check back at home.
