During the McCarthy era Chinese immigrant Tung Pok Chin’s persecution by the FBI caused him to hastened his Americanization. As a father, and a Chinese immigrant who had lived in the U.S for over 20 years, Chin had no choice but to assimilate. In the fall of 1949, the Chinese leader Mao Zedong, declared China as a communist nation which created hostile for Chinese Americans. Therefore, Chin was forced to precipitate a demonstration of his patriotism with the U.S. Chin differed from other Chinese immigrants because he had taught himself English, and had also served in the navy. Despite his act of patriotism prior to 1949, historical conflicts between China and the U.S made it inevitable for Chin to face prejudice.

These types of social organizations secured areas of employment and housing for Chinese immigrants in California. This social structure that was unknown to Anglos led them to also categorize Chinese on the same level as Indians by depicting them as lustful heathens whom were out to taint innocent white women. These images were also perpetuated onto Chinese women, thus, also sexualizing them as all prostitutes.
In 1895, Japan took over a large part of China and so did the Europeans in the late 1890s due to China’s leaders’ lack of power to control their nation by opening up its doors for them to trade and them taking an advantage of it. Many of the US business and government leaders worried they were not give equal opportunity to trade with them so they proposed the Open Door Policy with China. The policy stated all nations will be allowed to trade freely in and with China. Europeans this to be the benefit of the US and would take away their power in China so they did not accept. Later European accepted the Open Door Policy after more than 200 foreigners were killed in the Boxer Rebellion.
There are so many other reasons and because of this conflict, but one that was sad for children caused much hurt in their little hearts. Many Chinese immigrants were children and when they first came to America they felt alone and scared, they left their only home they ever knew behind them for a better life for their family. Many Chinese family moved into neighborhoods where mostly white people lived, many didn 't know what to think of the chinese at first. But soon many chinese children went and tried new things, many soon started to befriend american children. Both kinds of children had no clue that it wasn 't right to be friends with the other but they soon both payed a heavy price.

The reason causes them have those problems is the difference between different education systems. Many Chinese students might over use the same words or information from others, which is plagiarism for American education system, but it’s ok for Chinese education system. In addition, some Chinese students might don’t know about how to use citation and quotation in the writing, it will cause them plagiarize in the writing assignments. After reading article about the cheating problems among the Chinese students, knowing American education system is a way to avoid the problem.

The U.S media was very biased when comparing the Chinese to the Japanese. While the Chinese man had an amiable appearance and a slender body, the Japanese had an unpleasant frown on his face and was described as short and stout (Miles). The article “WWII Propaganda: The Influence of Racism” also states that “The Chinese man’s occupation implies that he helps people, while the title of Japanese warrior alludes to danger and disloyalty,” (ibid).
In recent discussions of unemployment, a controversial issue has been whether a college education is worth the oppressive debt that colleges thrust upon their students. From this perspective, obtaining a preeminent education is not valued above the threat of student loans that constantly loom over the possessor. On the other hand, however, others argue that a college education constructs the building blocks for undergraduates to pursue more than just a job or career. In the words of one of this view’s main proponents, “Post secondary education should help students to discover what they love to do, to get better at it, and to develop that ability to continue learning so that they become agents of change- not victims of it,” (Roth). According to this view, secondary education develops a student’s ability to rise above change and are not lost to its enormous list of victims.
