Chinese Immigrants Not Welcome Anymore: Personal Response Yini (Yuki) Lu Trinity Western University Chinese immigrants not welcome anymore As the world becoms more globalized, it will be ponder athletic issues of racial imbalance so as to abstain from those mistakes of the previous. For instance, in Canada the Chinese immigrantion were not welcome by the British Columbia. The discrimination revealed in the documentary film “Chinese immigrants not welcome anymore” causes me to reflect on the earlier Chinese immigrants was living in misfortune through the following aspects: the racist actions of government and the disesteem in the video. Chinese immigration was displeasured by the local and neighborhoods because they were new group of people in a different language and life style. In more detail, earlier Chinese immigrants was not accepted as a community when they were legal immigration in Vancouver. As the Jim Wong Chu who is an Asian-Canadian writer said in the video “because it was the community that was rejected and they have no where to go and literally if it was possible for the people those days they were like to precious route to see”(Eve, 1997). This caused me to feel depressed, because earlier Chinese immigrantion was disesteem by the community. In comparison, this is samiler to how the United Status the thought of racism to black people, they also rejected by the unions and the community. In my opinion, the Chinese immigration becomes more popular than 1880s. The disesteem maybe still existed but for me Vancouver is a diversity and inclusive city in the current day.
