The Fall of The I-Hotel (2005) is a documentary directed by Curtis Choy about the displacement of hundreds of Filipino immigrants from Manilatown, a small subdivision located in San Francisco. The demolition of Manilatown was part of an urban renewal and redevelopment movement in the 1960s, what planned to utilize the block to expand the city's business sector. After a twenty years long protest by the I-hotel residents and their supporters, the I-hotel was demolished in 1981, four years after the eviction of the last remaining tenants of the hotel. The film was edited in 2005 to include a new beginning and ending, which help to keep this issue alive in the discussion of injustices against Asian Americans. From the beginning of the documentary,

Any company can have a great core product, but if they are lacking in supplementary products such as enhancing elements or facilitating elements in which hospitable reasoning is involved in, then they will have put there company in an almost impossible passion for their core product to succeed. The crescent hotel in Eureka springs Arkansas is one of the most haunted hotels in America. The hotel was first finished in 1886 it was a hotel until 1908. From 1908 to 1924 it was a college for women for 16 years. Then sat abandoned for 6 years, until being a junior college. In 1937 a man named Norman Baker bought the hotel, and turned it into a cancer hospital.
As an example, my father spent over twenty years on the road selling security services for places all over the state. One of the advantages that he reports as a value is their loyalty club services, where after spending a certain amount nights he was rewarded with free nights. The exception is that Hampton is a different type of establishment but still in competition with Motel 6 on the level that they both want travelers to stay at their establishments (Ormanidhi & Stringa, 2008). However, a Motel 6 targets customers who want to save while Hampton wants to serve those who want a more comfortable, classier experience. World War I had many different events and such that led up to this massive war break out, but there is a specific underlying cause behind it. World War I began in June of 1914 and went on until November of 1918; Britain, France, Russia, Italy, Germany, Austria-Hungary, and a few others were all apart of this “War To End All Wars”. There were three underlying causes of the war, Imperialism, Militarism and Alliances. Of these three causes, Alliances were the most significant in starting World War I. Imperialism provided a cause for WWI, in several cases “the mother country” established control over other countries.
Each hotel and resort featured details and aspects that reflected local character and culture of the location embodying Rosewood’s “Sense of Place” philosophy, meaning each of its properties is uniquely defined by the location. The potential retaining of customers, profitability of a holiday inn can be determined by being aware of the strengths and weaknesses of the hotel industry. But that does not mean that their industry is on the decline. Recently I traveled to a nearby city to catch a flight and discovered that a local hotel offered long term airport parking at a discount compared to the local parking lots with a free shuttle to the airport terminal. Innovative amenities like this can really add value by providing a needed service that has little to do with the traditional hotel services. Franchising and decision variables The article in Franchising versus company-run operations: Modal choice in the global hotel sector discusses the various aspects considered by well-established hotels when they face the dilemma of whether to franchise a new hotel in a new geography or actually own the hotel themselves. The article is helpful in drawing the parallels for franchising decisions in service industry and especially pretty apt for the services which include high initial capital investment.
