Lost You're black, inferior, and struggling with mental illness. You have two choices but both of them show no light at the end of the tunnel. Its rare for a black man to come out for help because its seen as weakness and you will get mistreated by doctors (Dr.Primm). In the 1950’s as a black man with PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder ) you don't have many choices. Frank Money does many things throughout the book that's causes him to have PTSD and hes has random outbreak; When he fights, kills or does things that remind him of his past. He learns to overcome it with , family, and facing his fears. Frank fought in the Korean war and has killed quite a bit of people during war. According to Dr. Primm black soldiers were usually on the front line. Blacks were not as “important” as As whites at the time. so they were forced to the job and because. African americans did the most action and killed the most people so it was more common to see a black man with PTSD. Frank was one of those soldiers that had to kill lots of people. As young children this stuck with them for a while. According to Dr. primm PTSD isn't just from war. In this case that is correct. Frank money is affected throughout the book because of what he seen that day. After franks gets in the fight he feels wild and joyful. All though he isn't having an uncontrollable outbreak he still suffers from PTSD. He has a flashback which is the “p” in PTSD. a flashback to one of craziest things in his life. All he could think about was what him and cee seen that night. “How she trembled when we hid from the shovels. I covered her face, her eyes hoping she hadn't seen the foot hanging out the grave (103 Morrison). When frank got into that fight it reminded him of what happened that night and he will never be able to get over it until he faces
