When people think of a hip-hop singer a lot of great people come to mind, but you rarely see hip-hop singers change into rappers. August Alsina, B.o.B, Trey Songz, and Miguel just to name a few of the many great hip-hop singers who debuted around the same time as Chris Brown.. When people think of hip-hop they see turntables being used and different digital samplers, sequencers, drum machines, and synthesizers to make the beats artist use. In the genre of Hip-Hop, there may be many affordances, but there isn’t really any limitations because you could pretty much talk about anything in Hip-Hop. Some people say this album was most popular because of his domestic violence incident against ex-girlfriend, singer Rihanna. This album’s most popular songs were “ Yeah 3x,” “ Deuces,” “ Look At Me Now,” “ Wet The Bed,” and yes “ She Ain’t You” was apart of this most popular album. In the song and chorus of “ She Ain’t You,” Chris Brown uses a lot of Pathos because of the emotions he show in this particular song. For instance, the chorus lyrics states “I think I better let her go Cause I can’t leave you alone, Every day that I’m with her, all I want is you, I wanna leave but I’m afraid that you don’t feel the same and now I see she ain’t you,” you see Chris Brown puts his emotions in the song because he realizes he lost someone he wants back and the girl he was with at the moment doesn’t compare to her. In this album Chris Brown was much more older than 16, so some of his songs were not filtered and main topics were about sex and love. In this album you would hear more of the rapper Chris Brown even though he still sings in most of the songs. This album featured a handful of rappers such as Yo Gotti, Dej Loaf, Gucci Mane, A Boogie With The Hoodie, Young Thug, Future, Kodak Black, and other singers. Being that the name of the album is called “ Heartbreak On A Full Moon,” you can already tell Chris Brown include will include some emotions into his songs, which is a form of Pathos. Chris Brown talked about even more sex ( physically and orally), money, and about women who mixed alcohol and pills. Even though Brown’s album has 45 songs on it, this didn’t stop fans from buying it and those 45 songs didn’t keep the album from charting on Billboard’s Top 100. One song in particular “ Privacy,” you will notice Chris Brown starts the song off kind of singing in Verses 1 and 2 and the chorus. Chris Brown then switches to rapping Verse 3 and in this verse you would see even more sex related lyrics.
