Present the truth of the Christian worldview Even with possession of technical excellence, authenticity to the human condition, and mind pricking topics, without the presence of truth of the Christian worldview it isn 't classified as good Christian art. Jacques Martian clearly defines what christian art is in his essay “Christian Art,” “I mean Christian art in the sense of art which bears within it the character of christianity…. Christian art is defined by the one in whom it exists and by the spirit from which it issues: one says “Christian Art” or the “art of a christian,” as one says … the “art of man” It is the art of redeemed humanity.” (53)

With the basis of creating good Christian art to give God glory, good Christian art must also present the truth of the Christian worldview. Brian Godawa explains the problem with the world is that “we as a society have no absolute reference point of truth” (436). Since human lives lack meaning or purpose without truth, many approach good Christian art looking for answers, whether through books, movies or music. Unlike non-Christians, Christians do have a point of truth, the Bible, and this influences their creations, thus making Christian art automatically contain an element of truth. Leland Ryken proposes two forms of Christian truth, inclusively and exclusively (203). For art to be inclusively Christian it contains general themes that are found within other cultures and religions such as loving and caring for others and the importance of trust. The exclusively Christian truth presents truth that comes from the Bible, such as a way of salvation through forgiveness, the pardon of God, or any events from the Bible. Piero della Francesca 's painting, The Resurrection, previously mentioned is considered exclusively Christian art. Good Christian art tells of a story and truth that everyone longs to know because we are all human and “Christianity … assumes meaning in art and life to be attainable” (Kilby 22).
Boxers & Saints as Good Christian Art Holistically, Boxers & Saints by Gene Luen Yang is a sample of good Christian art. The two books possess the qualities of good Christian art, those of technical mastery, authenticity, thought-provoking content, and presenting the truth of a Christian worldview.
