Christine Sinclair is a soccer player born and raised in British Columbia, Canada. She currently plays professionally for Portland Thorns FC and acts as the captain for the Canadian Women 's National Team.

Sinclair was born on June 12th, 1983, in the town of Burnaby. This is where at the age of 4, she began playing soccer. As a kid, Sinclair played multiple sports before choosing soccer. For example, as a baseball player, Sinclair played with boys instead of girls and she even made the local boys all-star team at the age of 11. The example of Sinclair not specializing in a sport until a later age goes hand in hand with topics previously discussed in class. She provides an example that people can succeed in sports even if they only begin to specialize later on in life. Later on in her childhood however, Sinclair really began to shine in soccer. For example, at the age of just 16, Sinclair made her first appearance for the Canadian Women 's National Team, becoming one of the youngest players ever to feature for their national teams.

In 2009, Sinclair finally began her professional career as a soccer player signing with FC Gold Pride. By 2010, she had won the league championship and contributed to the team 's success by scoring in major matches such as the playoff finals. One of her first major setbacks followed that season as FC Gold Pride resolved. Having to find a new club, Sinclair chose Western New York Flash FC. Once again, she won the season championship and received the MVP award of the final game, while scoring their only goal. In 2013, Christine Sinclair signed with her current club; Portland Thorns FC. Once again, in her first season, she won won the league title scoring in the final playoff game. Throughout her professional career, it seems like wherever she went, success followed.
