Identifying Information: Christine Thayer is an attractive African American woman appearing to be in her early thirties. She is married to Cameron Thayer, a TV director, who is also African American. Christine gives the impression that she has grown up in a pretty affluent neighborhood, as she was a part of the school’s equestrian team. Riding a horse professionally requires some training and the cost of this interest is not something that can usually be afforded to low income or even some middle class families. Subsequently, that very afternoon Christine recounted her experience of a horrific, near fatal car accident. Christine’s car had flipped over, leaving her trapped in the car with her seat belt still on. An officer tried to remove her from the vehicle, and she recognized the person. It was the officer who sexually molested her the night before. Although she was in a life threatening situation, and her survival depending on her being released from the vehicle, she was reluctant to let the police officer help her. The police officer said that he would not hurt her. She reluctantly agreed and allowed him to remove her from the car. The officer nearly lost his life trying to rescue her from the doomed car. Seconds after being removed from the car, the car was engulfed in flames. Presenting Concern: Christine has experienced two traumatic experiences in the span of two days. The sexual molestation has left her not trusting her husband for allowing the sexual molestation to occur, and not speaking a word in protest. Christine also survived a nearly fatal car accident and ironically, her savior was the very man who molested her a day prior. She may be experiencing post-traumatic stress
