The story of how Santa started giving gifts on Christmas Eve starts, like so many other stories of legends, heroes, and myths form the past, a long, long time ago in a small Mountain Village in a far, far away country. The little village is surrounded by a vibrant forest with a variety of trees and animals. In the spring and summer months the summer months it is green and active with animal life, in the winter it is covered with snow. Kris Kringle is a short jovial man with a big round tummy. “We had better take some extra ones in case someone has company, and they too should get a toy.”
Kris‘s wife said. “Great idea,” Kris said, but “let's wait until tomorrow night. It will be Christmas Eve, and everyone will be celebrating the next morning.” On Christmas day, the little church was full of both adults and children. With all the excitement and happiness as the children played with, and showing each other their gifts, the church was unusually noisy. Some parents began asking, “Who left the presents?” “Did anybody know?” “And, why were they left on Christmas Eve?” The question was passed from one person to another. The pastor was asked, repeatedly if he knew whom and why the toys were left. Finally, having after being asked, who and why, for the umpteenth time, the pastor asked everyone to take a seat. “If I may,” he said, holding his hands in the air. “Please take a seat, and be quiet for just a moment.” Looking over the crowd in the now silent church, he could see dozens of children with happy faces sitting on the floor holding on to their new
