I have wondered since I read a long walk to water how did Salva and the group he was in keep going. My idea is they wanted to reach their own goals and the goals of the group, also I believe it was so they could find their families and maybe even live life normally again. I believe Salva wanted keep going with the group because he had goals set for surviving till the war was over, this is a quote that backs it up “Each time, Salva would think of his family and his village, and he was somehow able to keep his wounded feet moving forward, one painful step at a time” (p. 41). He also stayed with the group so he could keep going without stopping, because he knew it was safe within the group I also believe that Salva wanted to find his family

As described in the novel that there are many external confusions between Coraline and her antagonists, but the story does not end there - Coraline is also embroiled in a perpetual conflict of self, a sort of tug-of-war between what is right and what is easy. Frodo put on the ring and become invisible, mistakenly becoming halfway into the world of the riders, and becoming more vulnerable. He lashed out and attacked one of the Dark Riders, getting seriously injured in the process, though his sword did nothing.

As Matthew Gregory Lewis indicates, however, the ballad also differs from fairy tales in some respects, in spite of sharing a set of motifs with them. The fact that Sir Gawain has to transform a woman back contradicts the composition of the classical fairytale; even though the motif of enchantment is technically given here, it works in a slightly different manner than usual: in the well-known fairy tales the audience typically comes across transformed princes rather than princesses (cf.
