Recently, we read the book, Tuesdays with Morrie in English. In this book, we learned about a busy man named Mitch who goes back and visits his college professor after 16 years. Mitch goes back to visit because he found out Morrie, his college professor, is dying from ALS. Mitch was going to visit Morrie once to say goodbye, but ended up going back for 14 more tuesdays until Morrie’s death. Mitch has learned a lot of lessons from Morrie. I would like to share some stories about my morrie. My morrie would be my grandpa, Chuck Speicher, because he showed me what hard work was and what family really means. My grandpa was farming like he was 40, but in reality he was only 72. He farmed up until 3 years ago. On January 28th, he got into a car accident, while coming to my house. He was in the hospital until June 4th, 2014. During this whole time, our family figured out what it meant to stick together. My grandma had alzheimer’s disease and ever since chuck he got into the accident, she had gotten worse. She was going downhill fast. Also, during the whole time, my grandma and grandpa’s farm got hit with a tornado. So a lot of things were going on at once. We had to take turns taking Grandma Connie, up to see him in the hospital. Each year, grandpa Chuck and my dad would restore a tractor. He was always fixing on different things. He wanted to always be at work. They would take a hour for lunch and be right back outside again. You never knew what my grandpa was going to get into for that day. He would find something to do when there was nothing to do. He could literally find anything to do. He was never bored. My grandpa rarely stopped unless something broke down. I remember once, when Tyler and I were swimming at my grandma’s, he was busy.
