Cinderella but she becomes an Independent Individual Once upon a time there was a gentleman who married a wicked and cruel woman. She appeared to be a kindhearted woman, but on the inside, she was an evil woman with a strong hatred for the man’s only daughter, Cinderella. Shortly after the ceremony, the man mysteriously died and so, the cruel step mother became the sole guardian of Cinderella. The stepmother as well as her daughters, forced Cinderella to wash the dishes, scrub the floors, and clean the chimney until the girl’s hands were covered in calluses. One day while Cinderella was laboring over the bathroom floor, a messenger arrived at the house with an invitation to the ball to be held in a week at the castle. He searched the town trying to find the young lady he had met at the ball. When one day, someone knocked at the door and Cinderella answered. It was the young man she had danced with at the ball. The step sisters ran to the door. “YOU’RE THE PRINCE!” they exclaimed. “Yes, I am.” He asked to try the shoe on both the stepdaughters but it didn't fit. He turned to Cinderella “May I?” he motioned to the slipper. He slipped the shoe on her foot and it fit. “You are my princess!” The sisters looked shocked and confused. “No I am not .” Cinderella said. “However, I am tired of the constant work you force me to do and I will do it no more. I am leaving.” Cinderella ran upstairs, grabbed her things and left the house. The prince ran after her “Come with me! You will have whatever you desire and you will never work a day in your life.” he pleaded. “I would, but I don't need you rescuing me. I am capable of fending for myself.” Cinderella attained a job as a housemaid and earned enough money to live on her own. She lived out her life in her modest home, and forgot about her past life. The prince arrived at her home and asked her to marry him. He told her she would never have to work again and the princess said, “I will marry you because I have always loved you, but I want to continue with my job.” “Of course my love.” And so Cinderella and the prince live happily ever
