The company that I have chosen to write about is Cintas Corporation because of what they do as a company. They started in 1929 in Cincinnati as Acme Wiper and Industrial Laundry in which they were a family owned business. Their founder was Richard “Doc” Farmer in which he started the business by just cleaning rags for local business and in 1973, they changed the name to Cintas. They provide uniforms for major airlines, different companies, fast food restaurants, hotel staff and many other companies. They also provide first aid and safety, fire protection, restroom cleaning and supplies, carpet and tile cleaning, entrance mats for business and many other promotional products. They now have a multi-billion dollar company with all of the innovated ideas they have implemented. With their innovations and technologies they have provided sustainable fabrics that are customized for fire resistance to save lives. They recruit from historical black colleges and from the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities for their companies. They have partnered with INROADS since 1995 in which they help to develop minority for professional careers in corporate America. They work with Catalyst in order to recruit and advance female talent. They are involved with at least 400 charitable causes and community events across North America. They have built their business on cooperation of all employee-partner in all phases of the company for the past 80 years. They provide over 5 million uniforms for people every day. Cintas works with the environment to protect and conserve the natural resources. They make sure that they prove feedback to their employees-partners by a “Direct Line” program that enables them to voice their concerns to the executive level if they cannot resolved them at the facility level. Michael Hansen is the CFO and Vice President of Finance. Scott grew up in the business from the ground floor and he would work there in the summer in the local uniform processing plant. After he graduated from Miami University of Ohio, he joined the company full time in 1981as a management trainee. He has a degree in marketing. Phillip Holloman joined Cintas in 1996 and was Vice President – Engineering/Construction to 2000 from 2000 to 2003 he was VP of Distribution/Production Planning, 2003 to 2005 Executive Champion of Six Sigma Initiatives and until he was promoted he was Sr. Vice President – Global Supply Chain Management and 2008 promoted to President and COO.
