Katy Perry’s “Circle the Drain” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EqarXvTf_jU) is a song about the narrator’s former relationship in which her significant other had a substance abuse disorder and how her former significant other’s addiction led the narrator to eventually leave the relationship. She sings that “this is the last time you say/After the last line you break/It's not even a holiday, nothing to celebrate/You give a hundred reasons why/You say you're really gonna try/If I had a nickle for every time, I'd own the bank” The narrator describes how her boyfriend continues abuse cocaine while also telling her that it is the last time he will abuse drugs.
