First, I made sure to wash everything. Then the next step was to cut the grapefruit and orange in half. The original recipe said to use canned grapefruit and oranges, but I could not find that at the store so instead, I resorted to cutting up my own. I then used one half of the fruits to squeeze about one tablespoon of both juices into a small bowl for later use. Next I cut up the other halves of the grapefruit and orange into small pieces. The next step in making this salad dish was to measure out three tablespoons of mayonnaise and mix that into the fruit juice. This mixture was going to be the dressing in the salad.
