Criminal law is a system of laws concerned with the punishment of those who commit crimes. It is protecting the overall public safety and potentially puts away people who commit serious wrongdoings. As civil law is the system of law concerned with private relations between members of a community rather than criminal, military, or religious affairs. Civil law Generally comes into play when an individual or multiple persons are injured in the incident which is usually followed up into a lawsuit or some sort of payment. We have the police, park rangers, state police, military, Judges, etc. to enforce these laws and keep people safe. There have been many cases about criminal law but one of infamous one was the Green River Killer. The Green River Killer was held responsible for numerous murders, he killed at least forty eight to ninety victims. Almost all of the killings were prostitutes and the majority of the murders took place between 1982-1983. There was one lead suspect that really stood out because of his aggression and abusing habits toward prostitutes. They took DNA samples from him but did not have the technology nor enough evidence to tie him back to the murders. But later on down the road in 2002 new evidence came and he pleaded guilty to not get the death penalty and is now serving 48 life sentences without the option of parole.
