The Civil Rights Movement was an indispensable event to history that changed the world to how we see it nowadays. Martin Luther King Jr. was a civil rights activist in the 1950s and 1960s. He led peaceful protests for equal rights for African Americans. He wanted to increase the public awareness of racism and end racial segregation and discrimination across the USA. Malcolm X felt that black Americans needed to secure their rights “by any means necessary”. A lot of terrible things happened to him which is why he was that way, like his house getting burned down, being under threat by the KKK, his fathers death, and his mother having a nervous breakdown, which led him into a foster home. Ultimately, both of them changed how many individuals viewed the world and the Civil Rights Movement.

MLK Jr. was a peaceful activist who decided to resolve things with more tranquility. Many things influenced him to be this way. The most influential was Mahatma Gandhi. Based on Britannica, Mahatma Gandhi was an Indian activist who helped stop the British Rule over India peacefully. However, you can’t really blame him for being so vicious. Many traumas shaped him to be like this. One of these events was discussed in the article “Malcolm X” by an anonymous writer. In paragraph 1, it writes “The family moved to Lansing, Michigan, where their house was burned down by white racists in 1929,” This evidence shows that this was their only house that was burned down by white racists. This is a provoking injustice, which caused him anger and a desire to fight against racial discrimination. Overall, Malcolm X had a lot of trouble that caused him to choose such a brutal path in life, which is why he committed to being so
