Civilizations: The Narrative Of The Mongols

The Mongols were a fierce civilization that lasted from 1206 to 1368. On the computer, we played a game called Civilizations. The narrative of my game was similar to that of the Mongols in who I went to war with, what policies I adopted, and what technology I researched. It was also different in the location of the main city, how the people were protected and my military tactics with foreign affairs. The narrative of my game was similar to the narrative of the Mongol. One way it was similar is who I went to war with. In the game I went to war with Catherine of Russia. I attacked and destroyed many of her troops with my archery units. This is similar because the Mongols went to war with Russia and gained control over that territory for 250 years. (The Mongol) This control caused Russia to have an absolute government. (IHC) Another similarity was what policies I adopted. In my game, I adopted the major policy of honor. One way it was different is in the location of the main city. The majority of the Land the Mongols controlled was in land and did not ever see water. This is different because in my game, my city was close to water. My city did not go to the coast of the land but I was about 2 tiles away from the water. Another difference is how the people were protected. In my game I had units ,such as archers and warriors, stationed in the city to protect the people. The Mongols would leave their cities to plunder other cities. (IHC) A final difference is in my military tactics with foreign affairs. In my game I made a peace treaty, this treaty causing me to only receive a limited amount of gold and 5 horses.
