There are many ways that I believe that my classroom management skills have improved, but I would like to focus on three skills: patience, communication, and documentation. Patience is so important in all facets of life, but extremely important while teaching. It is so easy to get frustrated with students who disobey, do not understand the information, or just simply not nice, but as a teacher, I must look past all of those. I believe that a major quality of a patient teacher is a teacher who used positive reinforcement as the number way he or she treats students, and that is the type of teacher I want to be. I will be a teacher who consistently motivates their students with positive reinforcement even when it would be easy to punish and get extremely angry at the student. …show more content…

Throughout the class, I have greatly improved my view of communication and how my communication will be between my students. As a high school teacher, I want a relationship that shows I care about who each student is in and out of school. Having this relationship because of my communication skills will create a caring environment where I will be able to approach the students with a respectful, but still teacher to student approach. Lastly, my documentation skills have greatly improved. Before this class, I have never put any thought into documenting students and their behavior, and I never realized the importance of this. Now, I have found that documenting students properly is pivotal in being able to help students in a better, more professional way, and will help me find triggers for actions and
