Classroom Management Philosophy

Over the past few years of my undergraduate classes, I have received the opportunity to expand my knowledge through different teaching experiences. I have had the opportunity to observe and implement different strategies in the classroom, giving me examples of how I would like to see my future classroom look. I have established ideas about teaching and learning that have impacted me in a great way. I have developed beliefs I would like to some day see in my classroom but, I am always willing to learn and take constructive criticism in my teaching as well.
I strongly believe that classroom management is key to student and teacher success in the classroom. During one of my methods classes, at Missouri State University I conducted my own action research in my internship over the topic of, lesson and activity pacing. The diversity I have had the opportunity to work with includes socioeconomic status, variety of racial and ethnic backgrounds, learning disabilities, and physical disabilities. In my classroom, I would like to see a student first classroom. I want all my students to receive the best learning experience. To make sure this happens I will respect all students no matter their diversity. I will teach students about diversity and viewing situations from others perspectives. This can be done through cooperative learning in the classroom. I also believe that by having the students speak from their own experiences will help each student to succeed in my classroom.
