Ms. Pomphrey has strong instructional practice and an excellent grasp and understanding of teaching pedagogy. She has built a strong understanding of the newly revised curriculum and clearly outlines the learning outcomes for her students. She has an outgoing personality that engages students in her instruction and lessons. She understands the importance of pacing, using various instructional techniques, and challenges students to be inquisitive, persevering, and motivated learners. Class started with a warm-up, and then moved onto the learning expectations for the day. It included a short video, some shared examples, and some questions and answer time. Some students use counter manipulatives, while others work on problems. Everyone was working on activities at their level while Ms. Pomphrey and her support teacher circulated the class coaching and helping students.
