The Clean Air Act is a federal law passed by the United States Congress to protect human health and the environment from the effects of air pollution. The original Clean Air Act of 1963 was established to provide funding for the study as well as the cleanup of air pollution. There was not an agency to either support the laws or provide accurate reports on air pollution until 1970.
