An Analysis of StrengthsQuest Many an educational institution have struggled to find what works for all of their students. The book StrengthsQuest by Clifton & Anderson (2006) attempts to remedy that struggle by separating itself from the view that all students should be taught in the same manner, or that students need to be individually ‘fixed’ or left to fail. Inspired by the conclusion that students fail because of disillusionment and not lack of skills, Clifton & Anderson (2006) put forth the idea that those institutions should view each student as a separate entity, each with their own unique talents, and that institutions of academia should put first and foremost the talents of their students to help them develop their own set of skills and strengths. …show more content…

Discovering your talents in the context of the book means The second of these themes is how you can develop these talents and strengths. The third of these themes is how you and educational institutions should take advantage of the strengths, and not the weaknesses, an individual possesses. One specific idea I learned from the book, and the main point of the book, is that if I focus on my strengths rather than my weaknesses, that I will be able to succeed much easier and go further in life than I would have otherwise.
