Clinical microbiologists is a career that I have a major interest in. I choose this career because I want to do lots of research that involves with diseases and also deals with the health industry. I am not too sure if I want to become a physician without doing many research. I want to be able to do both, be a physician and researcher. Clinical Microbiologists are medical scientists who study bacteria, viruses, fungi and dangerous parasites. They analyze blood, tissues and many organs in a human body to search for organisms that are harmful. They also help physicians with diagnosis and treatment plans to control an infection. Earning their master’s degree gives students more opportunities to take laboratory courses. Most master programs involve many courses to take such as bacterial genetics, physiology, immunology and genetics. It increases their chances in getting a job after graduation. If people decide not to complete a master’s degree, they can go on a purse a doctorate degree, PhD or MD. PhD programs give students lots of hands-on experience with current technology and methodology. Most students after earning their doctoral degree go on to an academic position and conduct research at universities and colleges. A lot of PhD programs involve many hours of lab work and research. The job outlook for employment of microbiologists is “projected to grow 7 percent from 2012 to 2022, slower than the average for all occupations.” Microbiologists are excepted to develope new medicines and treatments in pharmaceutical and biotechnology research. Their duties include to develop new treatments such as antibiotics and vaccines that will fight infectious diseases. When I meant adventure, I meant my lifestyle(personal). But since it was, I would consider adventure definitely not satisfying my career. I would prefer to work in a lab and office instead of working outside. Though I would love to travel to another country and see how they work with modern technology and develop new medicine and treatments. I know in some countries, they use things that the FDA(Food and Drug Administration) does not approve. The lifestyle of being a clinical microbiologist definitely fits me. I would not mind working in a lab or conduct researches.
- Creativity- I think lots of creativity is being used here, safety creativity. You have to think a lot and see what could work or not. You have to be creative and use what you have to make new medicine and treatments.
- Fairness- I absolutely hate when someone isn’t fair in a working environment. I find it disrespectful and churlish. Everyone should be treated equally no matter how many awards this person has and the other does not. I would hate to work in that kind of environment. I believe working in a lab, doesn’t have a lot of people who play favoritism. So I could see myself being in calm and respected in a
