Introduction
Currently, the majority people in the United Sates are becoming aware of various environmental problems. Especially, environmental impacts caused by harsh chemicals found in household products. This has led to people paying attention to products they purchase. In most cases, individuals make their choices based on labels printed on these products. If a product states that it is “healthy”, “natural” or “organic”, it is more likely to be preferred over other products. Green has become the new “ big thing”. People are taking precautions and finding ways to become sustainable. In a capitalist society like ours, big market strategists have implemented green marketing tactics such as greenwashing in order to push society to consume more.

In 1946, Clorox Chemical Corporation introduced its second product, Boon house cleaner ("Our Story Starts"). However, this product was not as successful as the company hoped. After two years of being in the market, the production of Boon house cleaner was discontinued. In 1957, the Clorox Company merged with Proctor and Gamble a company called ("Our Story Starts"). Few years after the merge, the company had its first, TV appearance. In 1960, the company changed its packaging style and started using plastic bottles rather than glass bottles ("Our Story Starts"). This change happened fairly late in comparison to other companies. However, according to the company, the change took longer because they believed in “… sustainability over speed” ("Our Story Starts"). This was the company's way of reassuring that they are cautious of various environmental problems. In 1973, Clorox established its first research and development in California ("Our Story Starts"). This led to the mass production of various new products such as spray cleansers, air fresheners and even acquiring the Hidden Valley Ranch
