1. INTRODUCTION
Coal gasification is a process for producing a mixture gas consisting mainly of methane (CH4), carbon monoxide (CO), hydrogen (H2), carbon dioxide (CO2) and water vapor (H2O) -from coal and water, air and / or oxygen. This gas mixture is called synthesis gas. Earlier, coal was gasified using old technology to produce coal gas (also known as the "town gas"), which is a fuel gas used previously for municipal lighting and heating before the advent of the commercial scale production of natural gas. In current practices, instances of large coal gasification is used to generate electricity, as in the combined cycle with an integrated gasification for production of chemical feed stocks or for the production of gas natural synthesis.

DEVELOPMENT OF COAL GASIFICATION
A wide variety of devices developed and used over the years gas. Gas fires, gas cookers, refrigerators, washing machines, irons, pokers to start a fire, baths heated by gas, remote controlled gas lighting clusters, gas engines of various types and years later, the hot air and gas central heating hot water and air conditioning, which made tremendous contributions to improving the quality of life in cities around the world. The evolution of electric lighting available to utilities, gas light off unless color matching was performed in dry goods stores.
7. COAL GASIFICATION – FUTURE SCOPE OF RESEARCH
The limits of the coal, China and the rest of the world can be carried forward for several generations if the technology of underground coal gasification can be marketed. Underground Coal Gasification (UCG) enables access previously inaccessible deeper layers by conventional coal mining. Several modern pilot projects have been successfully implemented in recent years and commercial projects are
