The development and practice of fashion dates back thousands of years and has proven to be a defining element in different cultures. The artists that materialized with their inventiveness arose first out of necessity and then some thoughtfully decorated the moving portraits around them with distinguishing elements. In 1913, French designer Gabrielle Chanel, or Coco Chanel as she has come to be known, opened her first boutique displaying her creations. As Chanel’s career progressed, her pieces reflected a distinctive quality (lifestyle) that became synonymous with her name.
