“Not just anyone can go into missionary work” But people like Steven, Cody’s dad, are perfect for the job. Cody is good at doing missionary work because he understands what he is talking about and believes in himself. If Cody did not believe in himself his words would not go through when he prays with people. You must also be an unpretentious, sympathetic and an open-minded person. At a young age Cody began to help his father Steven with missionary work. Steven would go around from church to church, setting up an easel for what he would call Chalk Talk. His father would draw out a picture with chalk on an easel and would give a lesson based on what he had drawn. At six years old, Cody began to help his dad with missionary work in churches from New Mexico to Alabama. Missionary work is when a person is sent by the Holy Spirit to people who do not believe in Christ, and they need help with their faith and or lifestyle. Today Cody is a six foot tall Judeo Christian, those people are born again believers who study the word of Jehovah from the Hebrew roots. People like Cody go to places of poverty and help build people up. They would help them build a brand new house. They would also pray and help people in poverty understand that there is something, and someone greater out there that will take care of them if they allow it. After seeing families and people who have so little, the missionaries would begin to appreciate what they had at home more. The car they saw as crappy before doing missionary work, they began to see as a great car that gets them from one place to another. People who have done missionary work for as long as Cody has if not longer are some of the least selfish people you will meet. For example the teenagers who lived across the street could have been a nightmare to live near. They start to do missionary work, and they become the people that knock on your door asking if you need anything. Because of missionary work, Cody grew into the person that he is today.
