Video Games are a part of today’s society. Video games started in the late 1900s, and today it has become one entertainment that kids favor the most. As technology improves, video games began to become on the go. It started from a console and a television to today where you can play video games everywhere on your phone. Video games makes many children, young adults and some adults isolated from the world and not interact with the outside world; they cause many people to start thinking that video games gives a bad influence towards the people who play video games (players). As it is stated by Green, C. Shawn, and Daphne Bavelier in “The Cognitive Neuroscience of Video Games.” they expressed that a surgeon’s video game player is a better predictor than surgeons that has done the job for many years. Many groups judge the whole category of video games base off of the ones that are rated for mature, but not all games that be beneficial to all. Like a very popular video game “Angry Birds” although it seems like a very childish game, it help demonstrates the laws of gravity and many aspects of physics. A very classic video game, “Nintendogs” is a great game to allow many people to learn how to take care a dog and understand the responsibility of taking care of a dog before actually getting a dog. It also allows children to enjoy the fun of owning a dog and not actually having one because their parents do not allow dogs or other pets. In Fagan’s text, it gives the idea that video games ruins minors, but the minors chose to play those games ; by choosing to play these games they should have the ability to determine what is reality and what is only a game. Video games allow many people to enjoy and do things that they are not capable or not allowed to do in real life.
