The cold war is a war that began after the end of World War two, from 1945 until 1991. In which the United States and the soviet Unions were involved in this war. They were fighting for two different ideologies: communism and democracy ‘capitalism’. The United States wanted to spread democracy in Eastern Europe: Germany, in which the soviets wanted to spread communism. The soviets and the United States were involved in this war, because Germany was divided into four parts in which the us and the USSR were part of Germany with two other European countries France and Great Britain (Winterfeldt).

It mostly explains about the world problems or the economic problems. The United States purpose was to have a working economy in the world and they wanted Europe to recover this plan because it would help to normal economic health, political stability and peace. The US policy was against the poverty and disorder (Doc 3). However, Truman’s believed that they should support free people and aid Greece and turkey. He also talked in his speech how did they reach the growth when the hope of the population for better life has died, the hope of people died from poverty and from the government (Doc 4). After a year of Truman’s speech in 1948, the North Atlantic Treaty ‘NATO’ have been issued and this treaty was signed by the United States and ten nations of western Europe. The Soviets wanted to show their power and they wanted everyone to be communist. The Warsaw Pact provide a buffer for the soviets to know who is coming to invade or they can see if any bombs are heading towards the nations of the Soviet Unions (Doc 6). The Soviet premier Nikita Khrushchev in 1956 explained in his speech about his point of view on the US actions, he said that the US wanted to start a third World War. The Soviet premier described the US “as a smoke screen to cover up the claims of one power to the world domination” (Doc 7).
