A. INSTRUCTIONAL GOAL
In my fifth-grade science class, the instructional goal is to teach students to be able to identify real-world examples of symbiosis and explain how each creature in the relationship is affected. The instructional goal will support student learning and thinking through inquiry, discussion, and justification of responses as students work through the symbiosis sort. The instructional goal supports engagement because students are working with real world concepts, using technology, and have a choice of who or how they work with and where they work.

Within the email I will state my goal and how I would like it to be incorporated in a reading and writing lesson. I will provide the topic, standard, and specific objectives. I will ask that they research or compile a few resources to share at the meeting that support the instructional goal in English Language Arts. I will specifically state that Collaborator #1 is focusing on the writing learning activities and Collaborator #2 is focusing on the reading learning activities. I will set a date and time for a planning meeting.
During the planning meet, we will create one lesson that integrates English language arts and symbiosis in learning stations. We will analyze all the resources that we have compiled and select four that we feel would be the most effective for our students. We will need three reading activities and one writing activity to complete the learning stations. One activity will require students to work independently. Two of the learning activities will have the support of a teacher to facilitate. And one station will be a collaborative group
