At a very young age, I fell in love with computers. The simple idea that we had the ability to access all of life’s information at our fingertips was jaw dropping to my young mind. Because of my love for technology, I soon became the tech expert in the family. If anyone had a problem with their phones or computers, they would call me and I would give them a diagnosis of what happened. Later on in my life, my passion grew further for technology. I started looking into how computers worked and researched the functions of the parts of a computer. Questions that I couldn’t answer by researching started to arise, such as, “How would a GPU affect the CPU?” or “What happens if I overclocked a CPU?” I needed the hands-on experience. But what I especially like about Georgetown College is it’s my playground. I am given the freedom to ride the swings and I’m given the choice to take the slides. Whatever it is, the fact that I can plan my future the way I want to is something very few colleges offer. With regards to my passion, in Georgetown, I will be able to take a leap forward in achieving my dreams. For example, I have been wanting to create an application that will allow students to track their bus, similar to the Uber app, and give them a notification when it has arrived, completely solving the problem of ever missing your bus. At Georgetown, I can talk with my professors one on one and get feedback to help improve my app. Not to mention the many resources and funding that is offered to help make my dreams come true.
