I am drawn to Wellesley College because of its rigorous academics. I love reading people, and their behavior. I want to know what makes people tick, what guides their actions, from where their thoughts, choices, and emotions spring. By studying Neuroscience at Wellesley, I want to deepen my understanding of the human brain and unfold the untold secrets beneath the folds of white and gray matter. In my high school, I didn’t have a chance to dissect a rat because “adequate resources weren’t available to the large number of students.” But at Wellesley (I was excited to learn that Wellesley was among the first colleges to get a confocal microscope), I can take full advantage of the available state-of-the-art equipment to study the anatomy and physiology …show more content…

With cross-registration opportunities at MIT, the Three College Collaboration between Wellesley, Babson and Olin and exchange programs at other colleges, I can not only learn from the incredible faculty at Wellesley but also expand on my academic interests from the resources available at other colleges. (I would love to take courses in Brain and Cognitive Sciences at MIT!) Furthermore, Wellesley’s proximity to Boston and Cambridge makes it easier to acquire internships and job opportunities. I believe hands-on work experiences can enrich my learning. Hence, Wellesley’s Career Education, invested and supportive alumni network through the Wellesley College Alumni Association and the Wellesley Hive, and the Tanner Conference will provide me ample opportunities to not only find the perfect internships for myself but also thrive and learn from such experiences. Besides these, I was touched by the videos of some of Wellesley students’ First Day and Last Day. It was inspiring to see how the women came to Wellesley with huge aspirations and transformed into Wellesley women with confidence and a firm intention to change the world and make their dreams a reality. As Wellesley attracts such driven, curious, and talented women, I cannot wait to be inspired by the amazing women I will meet at Wellesley. I believe Wellesley will help me build a strong foundation upon which I can build my
