When I enrolled into University of Connecticut in 2009, I was living my life conforming to other people's goals and not my own. Life purpose and life intentions are rich and valuable. It can also be helpful in aiding us to move through the challenges life brings us. Self-discovery is an evolving process. Sometimes you have to take a detour in life. Not too long ago, I came to realization there is no real timeline when I will arrive at my dreams. The true destination I am on is finding myself. There were many reasons for my leave of absence. During that time, some of the tribulations I faced was financial challenges, family responsibilities, and work commitments. I have made a major decision, and commitment, to return back to school to attain my Bachelor's degree at University of Connecticut, West Hartford Campus. …show more content…
Acquiring higher education can lead to obvious benefits such as higher earnings, improved networking in both social and business aspects, and ultimately becoming much more marketable in the job world. For some time, I've always had the mind-set that I did not need to further my education to become successful in my professional career. While on leave, I continued to grow with highly successful retail company Hennes & Mauritz as a Department Manager. One of the passions I've always had is to help others. My current employment allows me to help people discover their own personal style . Continuing to grow with the company has been a familiar thought. Development in Hennes & Mauritz are based on skills, experience, and more importantly education. I want to continue to help others but in a different way. Re-enrolling in college is a great way to make a career transition, learn new skills, study subjects of personal interest, and improve marketability in a competitive job
