In my childhood, I was actually more interested in physics than in biology or chemistry. Probably, because it was Stephen Hawking’s book “A Short History of Time” about theoretical physics that made me decide to pursue my career in science. My interest turned to biochemistry when I watched a documentary about cancer and people dying from it, and when I saw that program, it made me think I want to do something in the future that stops that from happening. Of course, it seemed unrealistic, but I thought that one day somebody will solve this problem and if every scientist will do at least one research in this field this day will come much sooner.Nevertheless, I was good in all subjects I began learning biology and chemistry especially hard. I read a lot of extracurricular material concerning these subjects. Despite my concentration on them, I also have a wide range of other interests, such as chess, Rubik's Cubic, mnemonics, table tennis or history.I am also good at languages.Beside Georgian my second native language is Russian which I know fluently and I always found learning my third …show more content…

Every year I was taking part in different extracurricular activities such as contests like ‘Etaloni”, “What? Where ? When?”, chess competitions, olympiads in different subjects like Biology, English, Russian. Once a friend of mine won a free ticket to “Buckswood” English summer camp for getting to the final of a national olympiad. He was very impressed by it, so I decided to try and get there too. I prepared for a few months and got to the final of Russian National Olympiad thus getting a ticket to the camp. After getting bachelor’s degree in biochemistry I want o to continue my education with an emphasis on genetic engineering and work in the academic world.In Georgia, this branch of biochemistry is moderately new and to develop it new specialists are required.When I graduate I hope to take part in its
