No matter one’s position in society, everyone has progressed to where they are in their own field of study because they had a teacher, a person who taught them the skills they would need to be successful in their community. To teach is more than just simply communicating instructions; it is inspiring students to find their own unique place in their community. I aspire to help other’s find their passion in life and make a positive impact on society by becoming a teacher. After volunteering in the Wilmington school district for the past four years of my high school career, I learned that there was a part of myself that I had never uncovered – a part of me that yearned to help others.
