For most of my life i did not know what I wanted to do. I liked my classes but none stood out to me as something I would like to do for the rest of my life. In the fifth grade I finally took a big interest in a subject, history. The teachers who have always influenced me were my art and history teachers. To me, they consistently seemed the most passionate and interesting. For example, my fifth grade history teacher helped form my current passions. My history teacher was exceedingly interested in the civil war and made the entire class participate in a civil war debate. It showed me the multitude of different points of view there were in any part of history, how scores of different controversies there were to be discussed. Of course, the north won the debate with a lot of solid facts being brought up and passionate arguing of our points. This debate also brought out how much I enjoy ed getting involved. Now in class I participate a great deal more and enjoy discussing the subjects with the teachers. My fifth grade teacher expertly molded my love of history with his enthusiastic teachings. Due to him constantly keeping me intrigued I learned so many things and excelled in class. I do enjoy other subjects like chemistry and mathematics, however, learning about history has always been more captivating. History, unlike any other subject, is an eternal story where you can constantly find new angles. You will never finish or find out everything about any time in history, and my history teachers have showed me this in their curriculum over the years. My sophomore year in US History II I was learning about WWII. I have never enjoyed learning so much!
