I've always found design and art really enthralling because it allows me to bring cognitive 2 content that occurs in my mind into something perceivable and tangible. The skill to translate 3 my concepts and notions into real-life objects is something that amazes me. However, my 4 creativity wasn't satisfied through design alone, because I've always loved the academic side 5 of school with subjects such as maths and science which incorporate the ideas and aspects of 6 problem-solving. 7 Studying Maths and Design as A-levels has encouraged me even more to combine the two, which 8 feeds my ambition to work as a Design Engineer. A Chinese proverb says: "If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap. If 13 you want happiness for a day, go fishing. If you want happiness for a year, inherit a fortune. 14 If you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody." Happiness is found in helping others. I 15 have always wanted to give back and I hope for my passion to become the foundation for my 16 giving, this was consolidated even more when I had the opportunity to incorporate my passions; 17 during my work experience, I designed and worked with a charity called Bag Books to create 18 multi-sensory books for children with various learning difficulties. There, I developed my 19 skills of designing and problem solving. 20 Naturally, I am drawn to learn more about the world of design.
