Once, someone asked me, “How being a doctor is different from others?” I explained; when an ordinary person enjoys life, a doctor spends hectic hours at hospital instead of being around with family and friends who always seemed wondering and adjusting with his uncertain schedule. This is how we struggle to save somebody’s existence! It doesn’t matter what we do with our lives, the thing that really matters is what we do to improve others’ lives. As a physician, we are intimately attached with our patients, through frightening illnesses as well as through the joy of their recovery.

If Guthrie for you means 'growth', then I want to grow here. I want to pursue medicine at its leading edge. My past residency experience has made me resilient. I am not afraid of dejection, disappointment or failure. What I am afraid of is, NOT trying again; that would be a professional slaughter. Life is too short to be horrified or crippled because of your past mistake. I would have become immobile, taken break, battled flashbacks from haunted experience and made myself vulnerable. But I am not a quitter. I am a fighter! I am still ready to give my life another chance. I am ready to acknowledge things that happened and ready to learn from those mistakes and make promises for a new future. This position will provide me with an ideal opportunity to grow in the intriguing field of academic research and clinical medicine.
