What do you think of when you see a stagnant pool of water? I think that I would like to create a path for the water to flow. The flowing water can grow into a river which in turn can become an ocean to be utilized for far greater purposes. Like this, I want to become a person like flowing water. Therefore, my motto is “Become an aspiring person that goes forward like flowing water.” I have continued to challenge myself to become a progressive person just like flowing water. My continuous goal has been to make my life a deeper and wider river that can reach the ocean. Ever since I was young, I had been so-called a model student that had vast amounts of expectations from the adults and the peers. As soon as I became a high school student, I moved into Seoul, the city known for the highest zeal for education in Korea. At this place, I was no longer a special student. There were so many amazing peers, far better at all aspects than me. I started to lose confidence in myself. However, I tried my hardest to become a striving student. In a series of efforts, I came through a competition of 40 to 1 and participated in editorial club for school magazine. At that time, I have turned to a flowing body of water instead of a standing one. On top of that, when rejected by my first choice college, I was faced with another struggle. I was earnestly looking forward to attending one university. However, due to my unsatisfactory grades, I had no choice but to attend a different college. While I was attending school, I determined to transfer. Attending each class diligently and organizing English Study group with other students in person, I continued to study English very hard.
