The University of Colorado Boulder has been the school I have desired to attend since early freshman year, or perhaps even before then. When I was younger, my parents would drive us up to Boulder in order to visit the National Center for Atmospheric Research and on our drive there and back, I remember looking at this colossal group of buildings made of red bricks that I would find myself gawking at. My nose glued to the window of our small Corolla, I would wonder about what it could possibly be. I would later find out, it was a university that resided in Boulder. If love at first sight were real, that would be a prime example of a time it happened. Though, I will admit that my love was primarily for the aesthetically pleasing appearance. It would be later on that I would come to find my real reason for admiring the university. That reason being, Be Boulder. A term I have often heard from Boulder representatives during my visits with the school. A term they often never gave a direct meaning for, because Be Boulder is what you make of it. Being Boulder is being yourself, whatever it is you’re into whether it be leadership or community service or really anything. I’m the type of person who doesn’t just like existing, I want to make an impact and be in a community. Going to Boulder I would take my passion for science, specifically, environmental sciences and continue to nurture and grow it with the help of the peers around me. Hopefully, joining any clubs that I can find and can share my ideas and passions with them or even create one to find those who share my interests. Great minds that think alike have the ability to do many great things, and at Boulder I plan find those great people and create
