It was my father, introducing me to computer systems by taking me to Internet Cafes; showing me how emails and the internet work that first sparked my interest in computing. Since the age of 7, I have always wanted to know why computers are so important in our lives, and how hard would our modern lives have to be without computers.
I want to study software engineering at your university because software engineering is a challenging and difficult subject which has excellent career prospects in the industry. As being the first person in my family to have a chance to go to university, I have moved to England from Slovakia 3 years ago especially to study Software Engineering in the UK, as UK is one of the highest ranked countries for higher education

Also by asking further questions and staying with my IT teacher at lunchtimes for discussion, it has helped me to see computer being used in business, such as Sage in finance industry. This excitement for the subject which is still growing, has led to me studying BTEC level 3 IT in college, to help me broaden my knowledge further.
In addition, I am fully aware of the career opportunities that this degree will open up, such as Web Developers, Information Security Analysts, Database Administrators and many more which are still expanding – this shows how big and successful the Computing industry is, this is why I want to make contribution to it; be a part of something bigger.
I am able to communicate with people at all levels – in Carphone Warehouse working as a salesman, good communication skill is the main selling point. I always enjoy a challenge, and can work well under pressure. In BTEC IT I have to submit my assignment work to tight deadlines, as well as delivering it at a high standard. I am highly motivated and enjoy challenges, such as leading Economics workshops on Wednesdays. I believe I can be flexible enough to meet requirements of any degree
