My passion is the game of basketball. Basketball is probably the only thing that consistently makes me happy beyond measure. I understand that there is more to life than basketball or sports but there is something about playing, watching, and coaching the game that fills me with abundant joy. According to monster.com, there are several ways to make a career out of the game of basketball. You can become a referee, coach, statistician, broadcaster, IT Manager, and etc. The career in particular I have chosen to pursue is coaching. I feel that coaching gives me a better chance to use the game as a way to teach children life lessons through the sport. My plan for achieving this passion is to major in education. I feel that this gives me a better chance to become a coach since I didn’t play any college or professional ball.
The game of basketball has been my passion since before I can remember. I remember the first ever basketball game I ever watched. It was on ESPN Classics. The teams playing were the L.A. Lakers and the Boston Celtics. The game was broadcasted during the 1984 NBA Finals. That was the day I fell in love with the game. I eat, sleep, and breathe the game of basketball. Most of the time I could see my friends and family members concentrate on Television anytime a match was going on and wonder what benefit they were garnering. At times I would here friends chat about a match that took place the previous day and keep quite throughout the conversation. Today I know almost all best basketball players across United States. I can easily identify them from a distance even on television. That aside, at the kick off of every season, I always ensure I have the seasons calendar and note down some of the big matches
